Today we celebrate the life of this sweet, beautiful girl. She is precious and the perfect addition to her family, and I am honored to have been able to capture her newborn portraits.

At Shawn Hodges Photography in Henderson, Texas, newborn photography is one of the most meaningful parts of what I do. I have been photographing babies for many years, professionally since 2008, and even before that, capturing the earliest days of life has always held a special place in my heart.

Over time, I have felt a growing desire to expand and flourish my newborn photography work even more, and lately I have been booking more newborn sessions. I truly love it. These first days are tender, fleeting, and full of tiny details that deserve to be remembered.

Now, as a grandma, I understand even more how quickly babies grow. One moment they are brand new in your arms, and before you know it, they are changing with every passing week. That is why documenting those early newborn days, along with each milestone after, is so important.

My approach to photography is relaxed, fun, and connection-driven. I want families to feel comfortable in front of the camera, especially during a newborn session when things can feel unpredictable. I create authentic portraits with a bright, vivid, and natural style that reflects the beauty of your family just as you are.

If you are expecting a baby, or if you know someone who is preparing to welcome one, I would love to help preserve those early memories. Newborn sessions are best booked within the first two weeks after birth, but I can also create beautiful images of older babies as well.

I also offer Fresh 48 hospital sessions, which are such a lovely way to remember those first hours together. These sessions capture the emotion, detail, and wonder of meeting your baby for the very first time.
