Newborn sessions are some of my favorite to photograph. There is something incredibly special about preserving those first tiny details before they begin to change so quickly. After many years of photographing newborns, I am still inspired every time I get to document a brand-new little life.

At Shawn Hodges Photography in Henderson, Texas, I focus on creating authentic, connection-driven portraits that feel relaxed and natural. My goal is always to help families feel comfortable in front of the camera while capturing images that are bright, vivid, and true to the moment. Newborn sessions are a beautiful part of that work, and they allow me to highlight the sweetness, tenderness, and quiet connection that comes with welcoming a new baby.

A Sweet Newborn Session for Baby Chaz

This session was especially meaningful to me. Little baby Chaz visited the Shawn Hodges Photography studio when he was just two weeks old, and he brought so much sweetness with him. He was wide awake for most of his session, and I absolutely loved every minute of it.

Those first days and weeks pass so quickly, and newborn portraits are a wonderful way to hold onto them. Every tiny expression, every little stretch, and every peaceful moment tells part of the story of a brand-new baby. Sessions like Chaz’s remind me why I love newborn photography so much.
